It's not really a big deal, but the idea in the book is that you use the time you would normally spend watching TV that month to clean the clutter out of your house. I don't know if I'll accomplish that, but I'm hoping after the month is up that we will at least be more discerning viewers rather than bored channel surfers.
So far there is only one show that I truly miss watching: Justified on FX. As I confessed to a couple of girlfriends recently, I've got a "thing" for Timothy Olyphant. I read a review of the show by James Poniewozik in the March 15 issue of Time, and he said one particularly John Wayne-ish scene "left me with a thorough man crush on him." So I'm not alone. Sigh.

Rick said this TV-free month has made him consider all the projects we can get done with our extra time, which is exhausting just thinking about it, and brings him back to, "Maybe we should just forget about it and sit in front of the TV and veg."
Maybe in May. But not in April.
